The dust has settled and the battle is over for the annual North vs South rivalry between the ALSCCA and TVR teams. There were record numbers in turnouts for both sides with more than 50 participants at round 1 and over 70 at round 2. ALSCCA took an early lead with a promising victory on their home turf but in the end, TVR pulled it out against the overwhelming numbers of Birmingham racers at Milton Frank Stadium.

The Tennessee Valley Region faces off against the Alabama SCCA for what is sure to be one heck of a Solo fight. Part 1 will be held on ALSCCA’s home turf at the Birmingham Race Course. Round 2 we will find ourselves in Huntsville Alabama at the Milton Frank Stadium the following Sunday, one week after part 1 of the battle. Additional details are listed below:

Import Alliance returns to Nashville Tennessee for it’s annual Fall meet. This year the meet will be held at what locals call “The Bridge.” The bridge is where Import Alliance all began and is located at the LP Field in central Nashville. In the prior years, IA has been meeting at Two Rivers Park but due to the huge growth they can no longer accommodate us.
I go to every IA meet possible and it is a blast. The event has grown in epic proportions during the short 5 year history. This is not some big-time race or over hyped show, this is a gathering of enthusiasts that just love to get together with other car people and chill.

In November 2010, COBB Tuning will be opening a brand new location for service, sales, and tuning in the southern California area. The new shop will be called COBB Tuning Socal located in Fountain Valley, CA. COBB Tuning Socal will offer all of their popular services including: bolt-on power installations, staged power packages, engine builds, professional dyno tuning, custom fabrication, precision alignments, project car consultation, suspension design and set-up and drivetrain enhancement.
Jon Drenas will be the tuner for the new locating offering customers professional tunes and doing R&D work for the AccessPORT development. The front man of retail sales will be Danny Heng. He will also provide help with all of your project car questions.

During the 2006 Subiefest Time Attack, Alec Osenbach loses control of the Kendrick Gray 2004 WRX STI and crashes into the dirt bank sending the car tumbling like something you would see in a movie. Alec is a skilled diver and has many hours of seat time at the Pacific Raceway in Kent, Washington. This just goes to show how easily an error can happen to even the best of them.
The car was built for Street Modified class by Kendrick Gray and pushed out nearly 350whp. The car was extensively modified both inside and out but it did not have a roll cage. Great job by Subaru to make the WRX chassis very strong.

Tickets are now on sale for TENNESSPEED DAY 2010. This year the event will be held at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green, KY. All cars are welcome to participate. This is a once a year event for everyone to get together and socialize with other racers in the area. You get a lot of track time for the money at this event.
Advanced tickets are now on sale at a discount. Advanced tickets will remain available until Saturday, September 11th which is one week before the event. If you do not want to purchase your tickets ahead of time then they will be available at the gates at full price.

Flipping cars in a rally race isn’t anything new but have you ever seen one flip then win the race by 1 second? Us either but that is exactly what happened at the 2010 Rallye Baie des Chaleurs Rally. Patrick Richard and co-driver Alan Ockwell pilot the Subaru Canada’s WRX STI when they cut the corner just a bit too much and send them tumbling.

Installing your new WRX shifter is a pretty simple task that can be done in around 20 minutes with simple hand tools. This video shows how to install a Kartboy short shifter.
The tools needed for this instillation are:
- Snap ring pliers
- Phillips head screwdriver
- Ratchet with 10mm socket
First you need to remove the center console. Inside the arm rest compartment there are 2 bolts that need to be taken out with your ratchet and socket. Once you have those out you need to pop the ebrake boot away from the center console. Pull towards the drivers seat to expose the screw holding the shifter bezel down.
